Wisdom From Above Versus Demonic Wisdom
Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:6-16, James 3:15-17
Devotional: Not all wisdom comes from God—some flows from demonic sources. Paul warned that worldly rulers operate by the wisdom of this age, which is passing away. James identified wisdom driven by bitter jealousy and selfish ambition as "earthly, unspiritual, demonic." How do we discern the difference? Godly wisdom produces peace, gentleness, mercy, and good fruit. It benefits others and advances God's kingdom. Demonic wisdom serves self, promotes competition, and creates dependency apart from God. As artificial intelligence and technological systems promise instant answers and solutions, we face unprecedented temptation to seek understanding outside of God. But Jeremiah 33:3 remains true: "Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things you do not know." Cultivate the discipline of seeking God first, not algorithms.
