Prepare for Battle

Prepare for Battle

Whether you believe it or not, we are at war!  You can stick your head in the sand like everyone else or face the facts and prepare for battle.  A war is happening all around you every day, and the enemy wants your soul.  He wants your family, and he wants your future.  The fight is not in the flesh; it’s in Spirit (Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.).  It’s easy to want to rise and battle with brute force, but if the battle is in the Spirit, then our weapons are in the Spirit.  (Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil).  (Eph 6:14 Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.  17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;)  It seems easier to try to handle it yourself, but you will always lose.  The enemy wants you to fight in the flesh because when you do, you are fulfilling your own will and not the will of the Father.  There is only one truth.  Righteousness means right standing with God.  Peace is the will of the Father.   The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.  Jesus quoted scripture during His temptation.  Notice the first command for battle in Eph 6:14 “Stand, therefore”.

The truth is we already have the victory.  It’s up to us to hold on to truth and stand firm with confidence because Ro 8:37 says, “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Jesus defeated the devil at the cross and resurrection, and now the only authority that the forces of darkness have is the authority you give them.  Take back all authority and don’t give them a place again.  Moses was standing on the shore of the Red Sea with an army approaching that was larger in number and physically more powerful.  Ex 14:13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid.  Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD”.  If you want to fight the battle on your own, God will let you, but if you take up your armor and STAND STILL,  you will see miraculous results.  This life is not a game; it’s a battle for eternity.

Be blessed and be BOLD,
Pastor Charlie
