Live or die

Live or Die

Paul says in (Philippians (NASB95) 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.)  This verse is the single greatest description of the Christian life in the scriptures.  “To live is Christ” encompasses all we are in this life.  It means we are awake to the Truth and committed to His purpose.  We are sanctified and separated from this world.  (James 4:4 (NASB95) You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God?  Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.)  We are called to be separate.  (2 Corinthians 6:17 (NASB95) “Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.  “And do not touch what is unclean; And I will welcome you.)  If you are walking as you should, you will look different than the world,  you will act differently than the world, and if you are preaching the Truth, the world will persecute you.  (Galatians 2:20 (NASB95) “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.) “To live is Christ” means Christ lives through me.
“To die is gain” is the other side.  God created us as sons and daughters.  Hell was not made for us but for satan and the fallen angels.  As believers in the resurrection of Christ, we are born again in the spirit and will forever be with the Lord.  Our promise is (John 14:2 (NASB95) “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.)  Jesus is preparing a place for us, and when we step out of this life and into the next, we step into the great reward.  We will see God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the throne room, paradise, and streets of gold.  (Revelation 21:4 (NASB95) and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”)
“To live is Christ and to die is gain” is everything that we are and everything that we will be.  Keep your eyes fixed on heaven but keep your focus on your purpose and calling in this life.  We still have a lot of work to do.  (Romans 8:29 (NASB95) For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;)

Be blessed and be BOLD,
