Doers of the Word

Practicing Virtues - Becoming Doers of the Word

Reading: James 1:22-25; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Peter 1:5-8

Devotional: Hearing the Word without doing it is self-deception. The doer never forgets who they are and will be blessed. By doing communion, we proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.  Christianity requires more than knowledge—it demands practice. Humility, patience, kindness, self-control, faithfulness, honesty—these virtues don't automatically appear when you're saved. They're developed through disciplined practice, like strengthening muscles. You can't work on just one area and ignore the rest; you must exercise the whole body. Which virtue is weakest in your life? That's where you start training. Identify it honestly, then intentionally practice it daily. Real transformation happens when you stop just hearing and start doing.

Reflection: Choose one virtue to practice intentionally today. What specific action will you take to exercise this spiritual muscle?
