Loving Your Enemies—The Evidence of Freedom

Loving Your Enemies—The Evidence of Freedom

Reading: Luke 6:27-36; Matthew 5:43-48

Devotional: Here's the ultimate test of deliverance: Can you pray for those who hurt you? Jesus commands us to love enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who abuse us. This seems impossible—until you realize you're no longer their victim. When you've truly been delivered, your oppressor no longer has power over you. Forgiveness isn't excusing their actions; it's refusing to let their actions continue controlling you. If you cannot pray blessing over someone from your past, you haven't fully released them to God. Pharaoh is dead; the sea has covered your enemies. You're free to love them from a place of victory, not victimhood. This is the heart transformation that proves deliverance is complete.

Reflection: Who do you need to forgive and pray for? What would it look like to bless them instead of seeking revenge?
