Hold on Loosely

Hold on Loosely

Reading: 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; 1 John 2:15-17; Colossians 3:1-4

Devotional: We live in this world, but we are not of it. Paul reminds us that "the present form of this world is passing away." Everything you see—your possessions, your status, your circumstances—is temporary. The hourglass is running, and every grain of sand that falls cannot be returned. This isn't a call to irresponsibility, but to proper perspective. Hold your achievements and possessions with open hands.  Its ok to hang on to the responsibilities and things of this world, but hold on loosely.  Be faithful in your duties, but don't anchor your hope in earthly things. The clock is ticking toward eternity. Are you investing in what lasts? Today, evaluate where you've placed your trust. Shift your focus from the temporary to the eternal, from earth to heaven, from self to Savior. Live with urgency, love with purpose, and hold everything loosely except your faith in Christ.
