True Repentance, Not Worldly Sorrow

True Repentance, Not Worldly Sorrow

Reading: Romans 3:11-14; 2 Corinthians 7:10-11

Devotional: Jesus began His ministry with one word: "Repent." This isn't about feeling sorry for yourself or wallowing in guilt—it's about turning completely away from sin and walking in a new direction. Worldly sorrow produces death, but godly grief produces life-changing repentance. God doesn't need your apologies; He calls you to transformation. Like Augustine of Hippo, who encountered these verses and experienced radical conversion, you too can wake from spiritual sleep. Stop anchoring yourself to past failures. If God has forgiven you, who are you to condemn yourself? There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Today, identify one area where you've been stuck in sorrow rather than repentance, and make the decision to walk forward in freedom.
