“The Greatest Miracle”
Take a minute to think about the miracle of salvation. By believing in the sacrifice of Jesus and receiving the forgiveness of sins, you are born again. That means something has happened in your spirit that gives you eternal life. A supernatural event has taken place. Your spirit has changed from death to life. Jesus tells Nicodemus in John 3:6, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. That’s an incredible miracle. Meditating on it long enough will make you realize it is the greatest miracle. So as a new believer, you are already living a life of the supernatural. In Mark chapter 2, Jesus pretty much spells it out in plain Greek (Mr 2:9, “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? If you believe that one Man could take on the sins of the world, then you have to believe that walking on water is easy. One of my favorite events in scripture was when the disciples saw Jesus walking on water, and He called Peter to come to Him. Peter gets out of the boat, puts his foot on the water, and begins to walk. WOW! To me, that is incredible. What a tremendous miraculous accomplishment. Jesus saw it a little differently. When he reached out to Peter as he was sinking in fear, Jesus says in Mt 14:31, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”. O you of little faith. Are you kidding?! Why didn’t He say great faith? I would cheer Peter on from the boat in astonishment at what I had just witnessed. Jesus’s expectation for us is far greater than what we believe for ourselves. Jesus says in John 14:12 ¶ “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do because I go to My Father. You are capable of a lot more than you realize. Stretch your faith and get out of your comfort zone. All things are possible if you believe, and each time you do something for the glory of God, it will strengthen your faith. You have to take the first step without fear and doubt. I’ve seen the power of God. I’ve experienced miracles and healings. I have dreams and visions. I know it’s real. A man with a testimony is not at the mercy of a man with an argument. You can argue with me until you’re blue, but it won’t matter because I’ve experienced it. You must believe. The world is desperately reaching for anything and everything that looks supernatural because the church hasn’t shown them the power of God. Take a bold step of faith, and the next time God tells you to do something, DO IT. Mt 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. The miraculous awaits you. Are you willing?
