Power of Prayer

Power of Prayer

When you die, the scripture says you will instantly know everything (1 Cor 13:10) because knowledge is limited to our flesh. When the flesh is gone, and we are in spirit, we will know in full. At that moment, the revelation of the power of prayer will hit, like “I could have had a V8″. If you only knew of the power and impact of prayer, you would pray without ceasing (1Th 5:17). Prayer is our weapon, and scripture tells us in many places to pray all the time. (1Th 5:17 pray without ceasing; Ro 12:12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer; Col 4:2 ¶ Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit). Prayer is not just a selfish act of asking and pleading for things going on in life but also communion with God. Take time to tell Him what He means to you. Offer up prayers of thanksgiving and praise and seek His presence. God is everywhere and knows all things. He is more than capable of handling every scenario and every possible situation in everyone’s lives all at the same time. Stop approaching it with a worthless attitude. You’re a King’s kid. He wants you to come to Him as freely as your children come to you. People say, “I don’t want to bother God with my little problems; He has more important things to deal with.” James 4:2 You do not have because you do not ask. Prayer will put your faith into action and make the supernatural happen. (James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much). We have more power than we know. You have to be spiritually minded, though. You cannot ask God for things to fulfill the lusts of your flesh. You have to pray according to the will of God, and His will is in His Word. That means you have to know what His Word says. Belief and faith are the ingredients to make it happen. Don’t doubt, and don’t look back. Give it to God and trust Him to handle it. (Mr 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them). You must believe. Pray for yourself, your family, and your leaders, and pray for all those in Christ Jesus. Your prayer life will develop and strengthen over time, but it has to start somewhere. Just start praying.

Be blessed and be BOLD,
