Indescribable Joy
Sometimes I can't contain the joy that lives in me. No matter where I'm at, when it hits me, I feel like shouting. There are times when I hear the Word of God or feel His presence in public, and I can hardly keep it together. I know there is a time and place for everything, so sometimes I have to walk away and save it for later. Don't get me wrong; I wouldn't be writing this if I were worried about what people think of me. The joy in the Holy Spirit is indescribable. There is nothing wrong with the Holy Ghost laughter (Ps 126:2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting;). Once you have experienced it, nothing else will satisfy you. It's indescribable JOY! (Ro 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.) Entertainment is a substitute for the joy of the Lord. Have you ever gone somewhere or watched something, looking for entertainment, and said, "There were two hours of my life I won't get back"? Try spending two hours with the Holy Spirit.
Real joy starts bubbling up deep down inside your gut and works its way out (Pr 17:22 ¶ A joyful heart is good medicine). There's something about holy laughter and joy that makes me feel better. I don't know how it works or why; I'm just glad it does. (Ps 4:7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound). David says here that joy or gladness is more satisfying than financial success. In Matthew chapter 17, Peter sees Jesus, Moses, and Elijah, and his response is this (Mt 17:4 Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.") What would you have said? Can you imagine what was running through Peters's mind when he saw the three of them standing together? Yeah, it's good for us to be here. I would have never wanted them to leave. Like a vacation or something you enjoyed that goes by way too fast. Listen, you don't have to believe any of this, but the presence and fellowship of God are available to us through the Holy Spirit. Seek Him, praise Him, talk to Him. Prayer is not just supposed to be about asking for stuff. It's a conversation. Its communion. Imagine being in God's presence with His holy angels. Would anything on this earth be comparable?
Be blessed and be BOLD,
