Can you hear Him?
I believe anyone can hear the Voice of God, but do you want to listen to what He has to say? My kids don't want to listen to me when I'm correcting them or they ask a question, and the answer is different from what they want to hear. If it's coming from God, I want to hear it. I want to know! It's better to find out now than later. The Voice of God comes in many forms. I can only tell from experience what I have heard. (Joh 16:13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth).
I've had many people say to me, "God doesn't talk to me," or I can't hear Him," God does talk to you, but some people have so much stuff rolling around in their heads and so many distractions they can't hear. How could you hear with all that noise going on? Imagine the loudest stadium on the planet full of people in the middle of a game, and you're on one side of the field and Gods on the other. It would be impossible to hear Him. Clean your mind up. Get rid of the filthy music and movies. Surround yourself with Godly influences and spend time every day in the Word. Get more of the Word in you than the World, and you will begin to hear Him.
Have you ever gone to do something that you know you shouldn't, and something inside of you starts screaming NO, NO, NO? That is the Holy Spirit convicting you. If you can sin without conviction, then you're in trouble. Conviction is not the only way the Lord communicates with us. Dreams, visions, the small inner voice, and the rare audible voice you hear just like someone is talking to you. I have had dreams and visions, but one of the most influential events in my life was when I heard the Lord's voice. I heard it come from the clouds in the eastern sky, and He said, "I AM COMING!!!". The sound echoed through the clouds and faded off into the sky. It was so stunning that I responded, "Are you talking to me?". Realizing what had just happened, I looked around to see if anyone had heard it or saw me talking to myself. I immediately had a revelation about His voice. Now I understand how creation happened when He said, "let there be" Ge 1:3. IT HAS TO HAPPEN. There is nothing that can stop it from happening. His voice is so powerful it's beyond description. Not only does His voice have power and creative elements, but time or restrictions of any kind do not limit it. There is nothing that can stand against His voice. Who is man to shake his fist a Heaven or take God's name in vain? You don't realize who He is. His love for us is the only reason He hasn't spun the earth off-center and sent it hurtling through space. His grace and mercy are incomprehensible. Stop taking it for granted and humble yourselves before the King of Glory. The return of the Lord Jesus Christ is soon. How do I know? Because He told me.
