Extreme Makeover
Drastic times call for extreme measures. This is one of the most wicked generations in history, and we, as a church body, are stuck right in the middle. (James 4:4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God). If you missed it, it says "an enemy of God." The US is supposedly the most highly populated Christian community in the world. Can you sit in public and watch as people walk by and determine who is a Christian and who is not? Given some time to interact with someone at work or an event, can you tell if someone is a Christian without asking? With the divorce rate, addictions, and sexual immorality at record highs, most people we witness today are already professing Christianity. That's why it's so hard to minister to them because, at some point, they were told that their lifestyle was OK. It's NOT!!! Repent means; don't do it anymore, turn, and do a 180. (Heb 10:26 For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins). I may be naive, but today's church looks like the rest of society. Aside from technology, we are not any different than Sodom and Gomorrah. (Rm 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind). How can you be transformed if you watch the same dirty movies and hang out in the same godless environments with the same godless people? How can you renew your mind when it's continuously subjected to debaucherous media instead of the Word of God? The most significant revival in history is coming before the Lord's return, out of a call to repentance, not repentance out of guilt, condemnation, or fear but repentance out of love for the One who created us all. There has to be a call to repentance and holiness, just like John the Baptist preaching repentance when Jesus came the first time. We should be distinctly different by character, action, and heart. (Joh 13:35 "By this, all men will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another."). It's time to be different. It's time for sacrifice. It's time for an extreme makeover.
Be blessed and be BOLD,
Pastor Charlie
