Guard Your Mind
(To each is given a measure of faith Rom 3:12). Even for the spiritually mature, it’s difficult sometimes to maintain your faith without seeds of doubt and unbelief creeping in. We all need encouragement in our faith. Years before my struggles, I had seen God’s miraculous power. I had dreams and visions, but when I started going through tough battles in the flesh, it was like those testimonies became foggy. I began to wonder if what I had seen was real at all. Since getting things back on track, the signs and wonders have started to happen again (Ro 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.). My faith is strong, but I have a new respect for the warfare that is going on in our minds. It’s easy to get sidetracked and fall to the temptations of the flesh. The flesh wars against the Spirit (Ga 5:17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.). So when you are in the flesh and not in the Spirit, the battle for your faith is tremendous. Even when you have done everything right and challenging times come, your faith will be tested. John the Baptist is in prison and sends a question with two disciples to Jesus Mt 11:3 “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” After a period in Herod’s basement in a jail cell under harsh conditions, John begins to question what he saw. Jesus had not come to rescue him from his persecution, and Jesus had not been publicly announced as the Messiah (I mean, it hadn’t hit the media yet). Although John the Baptist proclaimed His coming, baptized Him, and saw the Holy Spirit descend upon Him, he still had the same struggle that any of us would have had. Given enough solitude and a little persecution, anyone will question themselves. You are going to go through some tough times. There is nothing in scripture that says it will be easy. It says the opposite, but you must maintain your faith without wavering. Your faith is what gets you through the fire (Da 3:25). Write down the times when you know you saw the power of God. Share your testimonies and stay in the Word (Re 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death), and stay accountable to your brothers and sisters in Christ. A war is going on, but we don’t have to fight it alone. Mt 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Be blessed and be BOLD,
